For some time, we’ve contacted youth sports coaches of many different sports regarding our sports certificate templates. In our discussion with them about possible awards and their design, we had several takeaways from our conversations.
Key Takeaways from Coaches on Certificate Templates
First, nearly all the coaches agreed that kids love to be recognized in some fashion – both as a team and individually. Trophies at tournaments, words of praise at practices and post-games, and in just conversation, players thrive on reassurances and encouragement. Coaches also believed that this helped build the players’ confidence, which is critical, especially for younger players.
Secondly, coaches didn’t feel you needed to spend an arm-and-a-leg. The biggest and fanciest trophy wasn’t required. It was a case of more “it’s the the thought that counts.” An affordable way to recognize players would be great, coaches agreed.
Another key takeaway for coaches was that in addition to players, coaches would like to thank and recognize other folks associated with the team, such as team parents, scorekeepers, and other folks who helped the team in some way. The recognition awarded to players would also be nice for these other key team members.

Continuous Improvement
With those thoughts in mind, we’ve created and revised a series of award certificate templates for various sports, including baseball, basketball, football, hockey, lacrosse, softball, volleyball, dancing, ballet, wrestling, and more.
Some certificate packs have been so successful that we’ve returned to the design studios to create more to address specific needs. In some cases, we’ve updated the design look. In others, we’ve applied a new technology; for example, we now offer our basketball, baseball, and softball certificates in photo format.
So, now, you can place your photograph into the certificate and edit the player’s name, team name, date, and words of praise.
At this time of year, three products tend to fly off our digital shelves. They are:
